The Montegrappa Heartwood pens have been created to represent the range and variety of woods that hold special appeal for the connoisseur and the aesthete. The material is recognised globally as one mastered and elevated by Italian craftmen. Montegrappa has embodied the gorgeous brown, black or tan hues of various woods in pen caps and barrels fashioned from organic wood materials, accented by brushed bronze-coloured details.
The Montegrappa Heartwood fountain pen has a steel nib and uses the standard international cartridge/converter filling mechanism. Italy’s first pen producer, Montegrappa, began manufacturing pens in 1912 in its factory in Bassano del Grappa in Italy. Utilizing natural celluloid and precious metals,Montegrappa combines traditional methods such as die-casting with more recent innovations as low-relief engraving to form their precious art objects. Whether Montegrappa use colors reminiscent of the master painters or ornamentation suggestive of Baroque palaces, the Italian heritage and romance is infused into each product.
